Levels

Please, make sure to read carefully the level descriptions before you register.

If you don't provide enough infos while registering, we will ask you more and it can delay your validation. Please be thorough :)

The lindy hop workshop lessons starts at Level 2.

Level 2

Intermediate

Experience Timeline:
You started dancing Lindy Hop in September 2024 (or during of the 2024/2025 season) and have been practicing consistently since then.
Social Dance Confidence:
You are comfortable and actively engage in social dancing.
Rhythmic Mastery:
You are proficient with an extended Charleston vocabulary and can easily mix 6-count and 8-count structures in your dancing.
Move Variation:
You have a repertoire of variations for fundamental Lindy Hop moves already under your belt.

Level 3

Advanced

Foundational Requirement:
You are fully proficient in all skills listed in the Level 2 prerequisites.
Experience & Commitment:
You have been dancing regularly for three years or more (or have significantly more years of less regular practice), and have attended multiple dance festivals or workshops.
Active Scene Involvement:
You practice consistently outside of class and are a weekly fixture on the social dance floor.
Tempo & Style Adaptability:
You easily integrate Lindy Hop and Charleston movements without interruption, and you are comfortable dancing competently across a wide range of tempos, from slow to mid-fast (e.g., up to 180 bpm).

Level 4

advanced +

Foundational Requirement:
You are fully accomplished in all skills listed in the Level 3 prerequisites.
Experience:
You have been dancing for a minimum of 4 to 5 years, frequently attend social dances, and are an experienced social dancer recognized within the scene.
International Exposure:
You are familiar with and regularly attend major international workshops and festivals.
Tempo Mastery:
For this track, you must be comfortable and highly competent dancing across all tempos, ranging from the very slowest to the fastest.
Contribution to the dance scene:
You may currently be teaching Lindy Hop at a local level.

Please try to register in the appropriate level, fitting those descriptions. There will be interesting material to work with at every level.
If you are too advanced for the level you picked, the teachers will upgrade you, so don’t be afraid of underestimating yourself!

The festival will host 1 Big Party with the great Holy Bounce Orchestra (Lyon), Djs and surprises! 🔥

We select teachers that are sensitive to respect the black culture of the dance, and we want to create a comprehensive environment around the continuum of the black dances and black culture, between the swing era and today.
